The advanced course in beauty therapy is a six-month course that trains you on specific skills, which are prerequisites to succeed as a beauty therapist. Through this course, you will develop all the necessary skills to become an Aesthetician in this field. Apart from offering a deeper understanding of advanced skin treatments, this advanced course enables students to become expert professionals.

Today, the demand for beauty therapy courses is skyrocketing, and with this, every enthusiast prefers to master the course! A beauty therapist works with skincare and aesthetics to make sure clients are happy with the way they look and feel. The job requires them to provide customer service for people who need facials and hair appointments.

Step 1: Graduate From High School

As a minimum educational requirement for employment in beauty therapy, a high school diploma is usually required. There are many beauty therapy courses, such as state-approved cosmetology programs offering training. When students complete the course, they are prepared to write the state-required esthetician licensing exam.

    • Become an esthetician by enrolling in a program

Postsecondary vocational schools, technical schools, and community colleges offer aesthetics diplomas, certificates, and associate’s degrees. Everything is conducted under the instructor’s supervision that involves lectures, demonstrations, and classroom learning. The course covers various topics, including manicures, pedicures, skin care, anatomy and physiology, facials, chemical skin care treatments, and much more. As part of their health education, students learn about sanitation and infection control. It takes about two years for students to complete training. During this time, students can participate in an externship program. Upon graduation, they can sit for the licensing exam in their state.

    • Apprenticeship programs are available.

Some states allow aspiring beauty therapists to enrol in formal apprenticeships with licensed estheticians or skincare specialists to train and supervise them in a licensed salon setting. More extensive preparation and training are required for apprentices than those who attend formal education programs. In terms of minimum training requirements and maximum workload for apprentices, states outline strict requirements. The state license is obtained once an apprentice completes the training.

    Step 2: Gain State Licensing

Estheticians need to hold licenses in all 50 states. Various licensing requirements depend on the state, including minimum education requirements, minimum experience requirements, and minimum age requirements. The skills test that candidates must pass to demonstrate their competence are both written and practical. For specialists in skincare, manicurists, and pedicurists, separate licensing examinations are required. You must renew your license periodically in some states.

    Step 3: Obtain Employment

After completing the licensing requirements, estheticians or beauty therapists work as barbers, stylists, and spa directors. Barbers, cosmetologists, and hairdressers are expected to experience a 13% employment growth between 2012 and 2022. According to that same report, skincare specialist jobs are expected to increase by 40% between now and 2026. According to the BLS, skin care specialists earned a mean annual wage of $33,810 in 2014

    Becoming A Beauty Therapist!

Beauty therapists need a range of skills to be prosperous. There are numerous beauty therapist courses to choose from! The glamorous aspect of this job can attract many beauty trainees, but not all of them consider what personal characteristics they may need to have.

Students in the beauty industry must be confident in meeting new people as one of the essential skills. In addition, they should have a friendly personality so that customers feel relaxed around them, and they should also have no reservations about working close to customers
