Saints Row IV
Saints row isn’t a game based on any of your favourite superheroes from movies, saints’ row IV is its very own thing. If you are a fan of the series and haven’t yet played this one, then this is one of the best video games to try out. The game is absolutely jam packed with ridiculous action, it’s a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. There is brilliant customization, but the best part of all about the game is the aspect of superpowers. Saints Row introduced superpowers into this instalment of the game to build on the already crazy nature of the series, just when you thought they couldn’t top how ridiculous the original three games were this one totally blows things out of the water. The storyline is fun and engaging, it’s filled with characters and memorable missions. The game is an open world, roaming around causing chaos alone is enough to keep you glued to your seat playing this game. It’s worth giving a go.
Spider-Man
Fans were ecstatic when this one was announced for a number of reasons. Every spider-man game that has been released in the past hadn’t been very good, fans trusted insomniac games to end the cycle of disappointing spider-man games and produce a game that did the character and movies justice, and they did just that. Fans and critics alike agree that this is by far the best spider-man game ever made and possibly even one of the best superhero video games ever made. The swinging mechanics are top notch along with the combat and storyline, it basically has all you would want from a spiderman game and more. As if this wasn’t good enough, there’s another spider-man game releasing in 2022 that is said to blow it out of the water! On the PS5 the game looks absolutely incredible too so you won’t be disappointed with the graphics. The only downside to this is that these games are only released on the PlayStation. As you probably know, Spiderman is owned by Sony, and PlayStation is made by Sony. This unfortunately means that we probably can’t expect a spiderman video game to ever be released on any console apart from this one.
Batman – Arkham Asylum
Batman Arkham Asylum is the first instalment of the trilogy, while all three games are absolutely amazing and totally worth a buy, this one is special to a lot of fans. It was released for old gen consoles first, fans of the character loved the game just as much as they loved the movies. The game starts with Batman capturing the Joker and bringing him to Arkham Asylum. In typical fashion of the iconic villain, he gets loose inside the prison and starts causing havoc by releasing prisoners along with other enemies such as Scarecrow, Killer Croc, and Harley Quinn. You could probably fit this game into the horror genre for how scary it can be at times, the asylum itself is terrifying to explore. The game was widely praised for its combat and emphasis on batman’s detective skills, we highly recommend this one, it’s undoubtedly one of the best superhero video games out there.
Injustice 2
This one might be a little different than you were expecting. Injustice is a fighting video game that is based in the DC universe. If you are fans of games like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, then this one is one of the best superhero video games you could try out. A skill-based, health bar, fighting game filled with iconic DC characters is something that fans of fighting games could only dream of. Each character has different attacks and such, it would take a long time to master the controls of each fighter in the game. There is a story mode to the game, although many fans much rather the multiplayer side of things to challenge themselves against other players. Characters playable inside the game include batman, robin, superman, the flash, and much more. With recent DC movies shedding more light on lesser-known heroes, this game only becomes more enjoyable as you have the ability to play as more or less all of your favourite characters in the DCEU.
